Adam J Tucker

Adam Blue

Adam was born in 1981 in Newport, RI, and has spent a large part of his life on that beautiful, temperate little island. Upon finishing high school, he enjoyed a brief stint at URI studying Computer Science until he realized that while he enjoyed programming as a hobby, he was decidedly more interested in network infrastructure.

Staying true to his engineering roots, he took a job as an audio/lighting technician at a local production company for live events around the area. After a few years of living as a roadie, he decided to return to college life to pursue a degree. Adam received his AS in Microcomputing and Network Engineering from CCRI in 2003, and took an entry-level position a small IT company in Portsmouth, RI.

Throughout 2005-2007 he split his time between work and education to complete his BS in Network Engineering at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. He somehow graduated with high honors and returned to work as a full-time engineer. Adam has achieved the A+ and CCNA certifications, and is currently studying for his CCNP.

In June 2009, Adam got offered a spot on the team at BatchBlue Software, and he currently works there under the official title of Systems Administrator, with a dual responsibility as a Ruby on Rails developer. Adam likes agile development and web frameworks a lot more than the old days of C.

Programming is still one of Adam’s favorite hobbies, and most recently he’s taken a shining to Python and the Django framework. Adam is very interested in emerging technologies and their applications in resource recovery, clean energy, and overall greenification.
